TripAdvisor has named its Top 10 Canadian Luxury Hotels in its 2011 Travelers’ Choice Awards.

British Columbia’s Sonora Resort was voted #1 for Luxury in Canada in the awards.

The Relais & Chateaux resort scored 100 per cent in TripAdvisor’s traveler ratings.

In BC’s Discovery Islands, Sonora Island is located at the mouth of Bute Inlet, one of the deepest inlets in North America.

Guests reach the resort by boat or air, some 50 minutes by private helicopter from Vancouver.

Open May to October, the resort is known for its secluded location; natural beauty and wildlife; luxury accommodations and gourmet cuisine.

Guided grizzly bear tours at the Orford River are offered in partnership with the Homalco First Nation.
