Pinetrees Lodge on Australia’s Lord Howe Island is launching a Food and Wine Week, July 25-29, 2011.

About two hours off the coast from Sydney, Lord Howe Island is a remote mountain island destination popular for bush walking, golf, swimming, surfing, fishing, snorkeling, diving and bird watching.

Pinetrees Lodge is known for its personalized service, food and wine and family atmosphere.

During Food and Wine Week, Executive Chef Warren Farrugia and his chefs will host two-hour cooking workshops and demonstrations.

Pinetrees supports a ‘Sea to Plate’ program benefiting local fishermen who supply freshly caught kingfish every day.

The week will include:

  • Two-hour cooking workshops and demonstrations every afternoon;
  • MasterChef style secret-box, 30 minute challenge for guests selected fireside wine tastings every evening;
  • Discounts on snorkeling, diving, fishing, kayaking, boat tours and bus tours every morning;
  • Full buffet breakfasts, lunches (either at Pinetrees, gourmet BBQ hamper or packed lunch by the beach) and afternoon teas;
  • 3 or 4 course dinners;
  • Use of all lodge facilities and
  • Island airport transfers.

The Pinetrees Lodge Food and Wine Week will be the first of upcoming food and wine events.  For Spring 2011, a special celebrity chef event is also planned.
