Traveling or living and working in the UK? If you’re looking at a Christmas city break with friends, think about taking flights to Edinburgh for Edinburgh Christmas.

Launched in November, the event features some traditional Christmas favorites, the Light Night and a St Andrew’s Day weekend.

“Edinburgh’s Christmas is one of the most popular places for Christmas shopping and enjoying the festive celebrations and we welcome many visitors at this time,” says George Grubb, City of Edinburgh Council’s Lord Provost, Councillor.

“With the nativity scene at the heart of our city and superb carol concerts to attend, it means visitors and residents can reflect on the true meaning of Christmas while enjoying a great program of events and attractions.”

Highlights of Edinburgh Christmas will include:

  • a Snow Queen;
  • Edinburgh’s Ice Rink;
  • traditional Christmas markets;
  • German Christmas Market;
  • Lighting of Edinburgh’s Norwegian Christmas Tree;
  • Live reindeer visits;
  • Santa Express on Princes Street;
  • a Santa Zumbathon flash mob;

  • fire-themed finale on Edinburgh Castle’s Esplanade.

Edinburgh Christmas will continue throughout the Christmas and New Year holiday period until early January.
