Many U.S. mountain travelers spend days hiking, skiing and adventuring in Colorado.

Moonlit, winter night skies can light a landscape for cross-country skiing to snowshoeing.

Here are 5 Colorado’s moonlight adventures from Colorado Tourism Office:

• Ride a Snowcat Under the Stars in Crested Butte:  Ride in a snowcat to the top of the Red Lady Express Lift and snowshoe the moonlit mountain trails back to Crested Butte Mountain Resort.

• Learn by Moonlight in Colorado’s State Parks:  Several Colorado State Parks host moonlight hikes led by park naturalists.

• Glide Through the Darkness in Fraser:  Devil’s Thumb Ranch’s features full moon cross country ski, snowshoe and ice skating outings every month.

• Explore Nocturnally Atop the Grand Mesa:  On snowshoes and cross country skis, trek across 32 miles on moonlight Grand Mesa, the largest flat top mountain in the world.

• Stargaze by Sleigh in Steamboat Springs:  Take a moonlit dinner sleigh ride at the Saddleback Ranch near Steamboat.
