Family holidays in the Alps.

Fancy a summer family holiday in the French or Swiss Alps?

Then look at new organized, outdoor activity programs in the Alps with family holidays company Esprit Holidays.

The summer programs are designed for children aged 7 – 11 and 12 – 15 years and adult groups and led by outdoor activity experts.

“The Alps is the perfect place to get outside and learn a new skill, have fun, and build up growing muscles and get lung-fuls of clean, fresh air,” says Ian Hope, program director.

These activity weeks are an optional add-on to the company’s Alpine summer holidays with full-board chalet-hotel accommodation and activities including adventure ropes courses, rock climbing, kayaking, glacier walking, paragliding, tennis and wildlife walks.

The mountain activities programs are held in the Swiss resort of Saas Fee and the French resorts of Alpe d’Huez and Belle Plagne and include equipment and a five-day program of fully led activities.

Younger children can be cared for in the Esprit nursery (4 months – 3 years) or kindergarten (`Mini Alpies’) for children 3 – 6 years.

Here are the family activity programs:

  • ‘Seven Wonders of the Alps’ alpine activity week, French resort of Belle Plagne: Paragliding down the valley, an adventure ropes course through woodlands, rock climbing, kayaking and white water rafting.
  • ‘Mountains & Marmots’ activity program, French resort of Alpe d’Huez: Paragliding trip, scrambling ‘Via Ferrata’ rocky routes with ladders, ramps and cables, golfing and a wildlife hike.
  • Mountain Magic’ activity week, Swiss resort of Saas Fee: Guided forest adventure on zip wires and suspension ropes, the Almagellerhorn adventure hike over Alpine landscapes, afternoon guided glacier walking and tennis.
